Natalia making pierogi in her kitchen

Why this page

Every recipe here used to live on a scrap of paper, or nowhere at all — just in my head, and in my mother's. This is where I keep them now: written down properly, so nothing gets lost, and so I can pass the good ones on to the people close to me without dictating them down the phone.

About me

Hi there! I'm Natalia. Food is my love language — it always has been.

I grew up in a Polish kitchen where my mum never let me only watch. There was always something for me to do: peel this, roll that, pinch the pierogi shut. That is where the love of cooking came from, and it never left.

Morocco came later, with my husband. Loving him meant falling in love with a whole other set of flavours — preserved lemon, saffron, ras el hanout, cinnamon somewhere I would never have thought to put it. I learned those dishes in his family's kitchen, and I have cooked them ever since, right beside the ones I grew up on.

So this page is two kitchens I love, brought to one table — and a few places set for everywhere else. We travel a lot and rarely come home without a new dish, so some recipes here belong to neither Poland nor Morocco. They simply became family favourites, and that was reason enough.

Every recipe is written out step by step, with a video, in Polish, English and French. Enjoy!

From Morocco

Tagines, harira, kefta, ras el hanout. Learned in a family home in Morocco, cooked here from memory.

From Poland

Pierogi, placki ziemniaczane, gołąbki, sernik. The food I grew up on, and the reason every soup in this house gets something sour at the end.
